Giving up can be dangerous because it leads to unfulfilled potential, wasted effort, and a sense of regret. It can also foster negative habits like associating effort with failure, damage one's self-belief, and lead to bitterness or a loss of purpose. In this series we will look at the spiritual disciplines needed to live a life full of Faith and a higher purpose, that are associated with giving up.

In this bible study on the names of God involves exploring titles like Elohim, El Shaddai, and Adonai, as well as the personal name Yahweh (Jehovah), and their meanings to better understand God's character.

Have you ever wondered what it really means to live your life walking by faith? Faith can be easily described as acting like God is telling the truth before you see the results, but that’s much easier said than done. Join Pastor Danny Williams as he takes a look at the Hall of Faith: a collection of Old Testament heroes and their experiences used to teach New Testament Christians what it means to live your life through faith.
Our Bible study group is a great way to deepen your understanding of scripture and connect with others in our community. We meet every Sunday at 6pm and welcome anyone who is interested in learning and growing in their faith.

The story of David recounts his life from a young shepherd to becoming Israel's greatest king. He was chosen by God through the prophet Samuel, rose to fame after defeating the giant Goliath, and eventually became king after the death of King Saul. His reign was marked by military victories, uniting the tribes of Israel, conquering Jerusalem, and making plans for the Holy Temple. David’s life story also includes periods of exile, personal flaws like the affair with Bathsheba, and eventual repentance.

The story of Moses recounts his life as a Hebrew-born prophet who led the Israelites out of slavery in Egypt to the Promised Land. After his mother placed him in a basket to save him from a decree to kill all Hebrew boy infants, he was found and raised by the Pharaoh's daughter. Moses later fled Egypt after killing an Egyptian, but returned to confront the Pharaoh, ultimately leading the Israelites through the plagues of Egypt and the parting of the Red Sea. He received the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai and led the Israelites for 40 years in the desert, though he was prevented from entering the Promised Land himself.

The Book of Ruth is named for the Moabite woman who commits herself to the Israelite people by an oath to her mother-in-law Naomi and becomes the great-grandmother of David by marriage to Boaz of Bethlehem. Thus she is an ancestor in the messianic line that leads to Jesus (Mt 1:5).

The story of Abraham, a pivotal figure in Judaism, Christianity, and Islam, begins with God calling Abram to leave his home and journey to a new land, promising to make him the father of a great nation. After renaming him Abraham, which means "father of many," God made a covenant with him, promising to give him countless descendants and land. Despite his and his wife Sarah's old age, God fulfilled his promise by enabling them to have a son named Isaac, cementing Abraham's role as the patriarch of a new people.

The story of the prophet Elijah is found in the Old Testament of the Bible, where he confronts the wicked King Ahab and Queen Jezebel, who were leading Israel to worship false gods. Key events include Elijah predicting and enduring a three-and-a-half-year drought, being miraculously fed by ravens and later by a widow in Zarephath, and defeating the prophets of Baal in a contest on Mount Carmel where God sent fire from heaven. After fleeing from Jezebel, Elijah had an encounter with God in a "gentle whisper" at Mount Horeb and was commissioned to anoint his successor, Elisha. The story concludes with Elijah being taken up into heaven in a whirlwind.

Noah's story, found in the Book of Genesis, is about a righteous man named Noah who God commanded to build an ark to survive a great flood sent to cleanse the earth of corruption. Noah, his family, and a pair of every kind of animal were saved from the flood inside the ark. After the floodwaters receded, God made a covenant with Noah, promising never to flood the earth again, with a rainbow as the sign of this promise.

The story of Esther is a biblical account of a Jewish orphan named Esther who, with her cousin Mordecai, saves the Jewish people in Persia from a genocide plotted by the king's wicked minister, Haman. Esther, who has hidden her Jewish identity, is chosen as the new queen and risks her life by unsummoned appearing before King Ahasuerus. At the king's second banquet, she reveals Haman's plot, leading to his execution and the Jews being given the right to defend themselves

Samson was an Israelite judge born with miraculous strength from God, who was tasked with fighting the Philistines. His strength was tied to his vow as a Nazarite, which included never cutting his long hair. After being betrayed by Delilah, who cut his hair after he revealed the source of his power, Samson lost his strength, was blinded, and imprisoned. In his final act, Samson prayed for strength one last time, brought down the temple of the Philistine god Dagon, killing thousands, including himself, which was more than he had killed in his lifetime.

The story of Jacob is a biblical account of a patriarch whose life is marked by conflict, deceit, and divine encounters, ultimately leading to his name change to Israel. His journey includes tricking his twin brother Esau out of his birthright and patriarchal blessing, fleeing to his uncle Laban, marrying Laban's daughters Leah and Rachel, and his famous wrestling match with God where he received his new name after refusing to let go until he was blessed.
